Municipal Hydrotherapy Center: The Municipal Hydrotherapy Center offers individual and group baths, 2 pools (for men and women), and thirteen individual bathtubs. The Therma is just 14 kilometers away from the port of Kamariotissa, while the facilities of the municipal baths are located at the entrance of the village, opposite the bus stop. The Therapeutic Properties of the Thermal Springs of Samothrace
History of the Baths: The baths were built in 1981 at the foot of the Psarotherma hill. Previously, there was a tank with a roof made of branches. In the 1920s, the first hydrotherapy center was built, housing the then outdoor tank. From 1955 to 1958, the second building was built with another tank. Today, these two tanks are used to cool the water that comes out of the drills at 92°C.
Water Properties: The water in the pools is clear and salty in taste, with a strong smell of sulfur. Its temperature is pleasantly high, ranging between 38°C and 39°C. The pools are in good condition, and there are benches around them for relaxation.
Therapeutic Properties: The vapors erupting from the drill next to the municipal baths building are recommended for inhalation therapy in cases of upper respiratory inflammations.
