Akrotiri Beach on Samothraki is located just west of Kamariotissa, the island's main port. It is a large beach with gray and white pebbles and deep, crystal-clear waters.
The beach is shaped like a small peninsula that juts into the sea. This feature ensures that regardless of wind direction, the beach remains calm and safe for visitors.
Akrotiri Beach is ideal for swimming, fishing, and relaxation. The ground is covered with pebbles and in some places with fine gravel that continues into the sea, where you can find beautiful seashells among the pebbles.
On the way to the beach, visitors pass by the Lagoon of Agios Andreas, an important wetland of Samothraki. The area is home to migratory birds and is a protected area where swimming and fishing are prohibited to preserve the ecosystem.
Combining Nature and Comfort
For lovers of local cuisine, the rock samphire that thrives in the area is used in salads. At the end of the peninsula, there is a small lighthouse offering stunning views of the Aegean Sea and Mount Saos, creating an unforgettable experience.
